"THIS should be the discussion today that dominates the news. How the hell did so many people just walk into the Capitol when it was in session? I saw security footage of people trying to break a door down and there was not even a single guard present. There should be at least one guard on every door at all times when there is any threat whatsoever. People smashed windows and climbed through, broke down doors, got onto the Senate floor, and even got into the personal offices of Congressmen. How does this happen? Nobody, regardless of what side of the political spectrum they are on, should be able to get into the Capitol without going through security and have a reason to be in the building. I think we have better security at our airports than we do our own Capitol. Al-Qaeda thought they needed to fly a plane into the Capitol to destroy it in 2001; after seeing these videos they probably figure they can just walk on in. Wait until the next protest, dress like a protestor with a suicide vest underneath, and walk straight into Congress. There is no excuse for the lack of security. And it's not just the Capitol. The White House has had several breeches in recent years, including one just a couple months ago where a woman got into the room with Trump during a speech and even talked to his son. These were just a bunch of unarmed civilian. What if a group of armed and trained terrorists from a sleeper cell here in the US stormed the building? They would EASILY have breeched security yesterday and today we would be mourning the deaths of God only knows how many Congressmen. This needs to get figured out in a hurry before we get caught with our pants down again like we did on 9/11."
Our intelligence and police agencies knew through social media that dangerous people coming to the capital coming to attack the capital. There were very well armed with guns, metal pipes, tasers and gas.
Why weren't the doors locked to slow entry?
