Hi, I'm a high school senior in Wisconsin and have been running for 8 years. I work extremely hard, but only have a pr of 20:30 for 5k xc. I will continue to work hard and consistently no matter what. I got a national merit scholarship for a full ride to the University of Florida. Unfortunately, I am looking at the team stats there and I don't think I would be allowed on their team. I want the rigor of a college program including double or triple practices. I also do not like to party so I would like that time to be spent on improving my running. I have looked at the uf club running, but I feel that this program is not rigorous enough for me. I have also filled out the uf questionnaire but I doubt I will get a response. The only thing I really need is coaching.. I would be incredibly happy if the coaches would even just give me the training plans. I plan to also run in grad school. I don't know what to do.... should I outsource a coach, join the club and just add my own workouts in hopes that I can join the uf team in later years, or ask coaches for the training plans? If there is anyone else on here in the same situation going to the University of Florida perhaps we could be training partners:) Also any advice for housing for no party scene and athletes not part of uf athletics.
