I am planning on creating a new FKT route in the Wilder Kaiser mountain range in Austria which would consist of summiting every peak which has a cross on it. It could be up to around 80/90km long with over 10,000 vertical metres. Much of the terrain will be high alpine with a lot of scrambling and even climbing at times, and very exposed. The shoes I choose to use will need to strike a balance between being comfortable and cushioned enough to cover the distance but be able to handle all that technical alpine terrain. I would be interested to know what everybody would choose for a route like this.
