Hi all. I've decided 2021 will be the year I really focus on the 10k and I want to have the best possible plan to run sub-32 (I've run 33 flat this year). I have a rough weekly schedule that I obviously won't run EVERY week depending on race schedule etc. but I want to know if this is a good formula to get me under 32:00 or if there's any changes that might help.
MON:
AM: 6 Easy (6:45 - 7:15) + Strides PM: 5 Easy + 10 Minute body weight workout + 5 Minute Abs
TUES:
2 WU, 20-40 Minute Tempo, sometimes continous, sometimes as cruise intervals, 2 CD
WED:
9 Easy + Strides
THURS:
AM: 7 Easy + Strides PM: 5 Easy + 10 Minute body weight workout + 5 Minute Abs
FRI:
7 Easy
SAT:
2 WU, Intervals totalling 5K - 10K @ 3K or 5K pace, 2 CD
SUN:
15 Easy
TOTAL: 70 - 75 Miles
Once a month I like to do an easier week where I pretty much shorten every run by a mile or two and replace Saturday's session with an easy run, totalling ~60 miles.
