For me it's:
Easy miles -- always by FEEL; easy is a feel (to me) not a pace, it usually falls in between Daniels' range but I don't aim to hit any times just running relaxed and comfortable so I get the aerobic benefits
Tempo -- Daniels T pace I use; "comfortably hard" is too vague for me so I stick to his charts based on my current fitness
Short intervals (200-400) -- They're so short I often find it too hard to hit a specific pace so I simplify it; run FAST; I don't sprint but I run as fast as I can while maintaining good form and being somewhat relaxed, much faster than mile pace but again not a sprint
Long intervals (800-1600) -- Same for short intervals, just not as fast obvious. I run hard enough that I get a good workout but nowhere near a race effort obviously.
I find it difficult to abide to paces for track intervals as you can tell. For tempos off the track out on the roads it is the opposite, "comfortably hard" is too vague and you either go too hard or too slow. This is the only workout I use a specific pace for. Easy running is slow and varies by the day depending on how I feel, etc.
Just my opinion and my two cents.
