robert brandt seemingly taking another jab at the tinman guys again - this time seemingly straight towards parsons.
parsons (as usual) had to post on instagram about his workout, a 7 mile tempo that made him think about how tough he is and how bad he wants it, and brandt subtly responds on his story “the ‘i ran hard on christmas’ post, cool... so did everyone else who wants to beat you.”
big fan of rob in this. yes, tinman (and sam), have grown the love among high school running by an absurd amount, but the need to flex every workout and every meditation session seems quite absurd to me and very unnecessary. love the call out yet believe that rob still has respect for the tinman guys. i think he just finds the constant posts annoying. work hard in the dark. don’t flex workouts on instagram, flex results.
robert brandt jabs at tinman again

Yeah, with Brandt running that solid 10k time this could turn into an actual rivalry and something the track world in the US could use. Both Brandt and the Tinman runners appeal to different kinds of people, so perhaps a few more people will pay attention to some distance races over the next year if there is some drama.
-
Agreed. I'm sure there's little to no bad blood between Brandt and Parsons, just banter. Good for the sport, IMO. If anything, Parsons should arrange for them to race. That would be fun to watch.
-
I thought the how bad you want it thing from parsons was more about if you’re willing to just do the tough work in general
While Brandt was more of just a general shot at the runners on Insta -
I can't stand the whole social media bologna. Yeah, constant posting from athletes beating their chests are annoying but so are those that read it and blast back at them. The whole exercise is an enormous waste of time and energy.
I'm not sure how this is a jab at Tinman, but I guess, you can stir and create that drama also. Whatever turns you guys on. Like a bunch of 8 year olds in the playground. Also very annoying. -
What was Brandt's Christmas workout?
-
It’s gotta feel good to think you’re better than everyone else because you don’t like to partake in drama, doesn’t it? You must be really fun at family gatherings, since you’re not getting invited to parties with anyone else.
-
Meanwhile Galen probably put in a ridiculous workout/mileage and kept to himself. But we hate him right

It does feel good. I have no reason to hang out with other losers like you at parties. -

Yeah, seriously. When did "clapping back" and "throwing shade" etc. on social media become a sign of strength? What happened to the strong, silent type? It's not just sports...This need to constantly defend one's self and attack others seems to have permeated everywhere.
Meanwhile, serious athletes/coaches like Rupp and Salazar stay off social media and quietly plan to destroy their enemies. -
Holy crap, is it just the video or the lighting or something but Parsons looks awful in those videos. Form is terrible and it looks like he’s running really slow. It really threw me off?!
-
Brandt would win in dominant fashion. Wouldn't even be close.

Does being banned from coaching really count as quietly planning to destroy your enemies? -
Bashing Tinman increased Bobby’s notoriety much more than anything he has ever done with his legs. Why would he stop now?

I can only guess what he has been doing the last couple years. -

Rumor on the Nike campus is that he is growing a Rupp clone in a secret lab in Gresham using similar tech as that used to regrow Mr Garrison’s wiener. -

Brandt has done more with his legs than all of Tinman (with maybe the exception of Hunter). Yet Tinman is 100x more popular for some reason.
Brandt's 10k was LEGIT. -

Indeed. -
So the OP “agrees with Brandt” which is basically stop posting workouts
Meanwhile OP follows Parsons on insta, reads all the posts
And apparently reads all the user comments on posts (40-50 typically)
Then decides to visit another social forum, and start a thread to complain about those posts
And most certainly will continue to monitor same content from Parsons he complained about in first place
Comical -

Well put.
