If you are like me, you have been wondering what the people who haven't been racing at all during the pandemic have been up to.
We have a partial update on Ajee Wilson from the Philadelphia Inquirer. The article doesn't have an update on her running but does say she's been "helping out at the Sankofa Healing Studio, a Philly-based nonprofit that addresses trauma associated with mass incarceration." And the focus of the article is about how she's buying her first house as part of Jumpstart Germantown - "a development program with a mission to revitalize the community through training, mentoring, networking, and providing financial resources to local aspiring developers."

Wondering what Ajee Wilson has been up to during Covid-19 pandemic, we have an update....

We already know what she’s been up to while not racing.

"trauma associated with mass incarceration." ahhh the myth of 'mass incarceration'
there is no such thing as "mass incarceration" since each person in jail has been accused of a crime, represented/defended by a lawyer, tried by jury or judge, convicted , and sentenced individually;
and now many persons who have committed crimes are never even sent to jail,
and finally ,
what about the trauma of victims of criminal behavior? -

Trauma may include something like unfair life sentences given to black people involved in non-violent drug crimes. Recently a man got out of a life sentence in Philly after police knowing falsely accused him of rape because they shot him for no reason and instead pinned rape on him to avoid getting in trouble. I could go on and on. -
If you think a group of people with C averages in high school are actually good at catching criminals ... I have a bridge to sell you.
-
thats why we have lawyers to defend accused folks, juries, judges, appeals; catching criminals is not mass incarceration; and many criminals are let out or not even incarcerated

People go to jail while they await trial. No offense, but I don't think I'm going to take seriously an opinion on our penal system from a guy who doesn't know the difference between jail and prison. -

You are in way over your head.
Nevertheless, Rojo posted this topic for this exact reason. Stirring the pot for ad revenue. -
neither you nor ajee has provided any proof , evidence or facts of 'mass incarceration', but you did manage to change the subject
-
neither you nor ajee provide any evidence proof or facts supporting the alleged 'mass incarceration' but you have managed to change the subject by giving the example of one person. there is no doubt that wrongful convictions occur, but there is no evidence of 'mass incarceration'. police who support wrongful arrests and convictions should be incarcerated themselves, the wrongfully convicted usually sue and are awarded money damages to try to make up for the wrong done to them, they should not need any 'help' from ajee. those who are not wrongfully convicted may suffer 'trauma' from being in jail , but that is a result of their own actions and the harm they did to others who are the innocent victims.
-
'incarceration' means jail or prison, if you are incarcerated you are either in jail or prison. you make a distinction without a difference. but you have managed to change the subject, which is 'mass incarceration'
-
and you are changing the subject again, by trying to insult or deny someones opinion, while offering nothing to support your statement

You said "each person in jail has been accused of a crime, represented/defended by a lawyer, tried by jury or judge, convicted , and sentenced individually," did you not? -

Again, you’re in way over your head. Your statements show me that you have little to no understanding of mass incarceration.
Beyond that, your feeling that prisoners “deserve the trauma” and don’t deserve counseling/therapy/help is exactly why our reincarnation rate is sky high - leading to, you guessed it, mass incarceration.
“Despite making up close to 5% of the global population, the U.S. has nearly 25% of the world’s prison population.”
That’s normal^^^ 🙄🙄🙄
I’m done on this clickbait thread. Educate yourself. -

The US has by far the highest incarceration rate of large industrial nations. Do some research, you’ll see and the you won’t repeat your mistake. -

When are dumb liberals going to stop treating CONVICTED CRIMINALS as the victims? Their victims are the victims, and they deserve justice. -

Liberals, what are you talking about the current GOP President is handing out pardons for convicted criminals and murderers like confetti. -
“Despite making up close to 5% of the global population, the U.S. has nearly 25% of the world’s prison population.”
Perhaps that's because the U.S., at least until this past year, has had greater freedom of choice than the rest of the world, and with greater freedom of choice comes greater bad choices. -
Upping her beef intake.
