Keira has no shot at the 10k team because the cheatershoes aren't allowed.
She's easily outclassed by Sisson, Huddle, Infield, Schneider, Kelati, Marielle Hall, Sara Hall, Monson, Rogers, Ostrander and potentially someone like Werner or Henes. There will be a lot of strong 5k runners moving up like Frasier and maybe Cranny because the 5k is stacked (Houlihan, Schweizer, Rowbury, Purrier, and others).
Heck, Schweizer might even move up to the 10k because she has a better medal shot there than in the 5k where she'll be outkicked.
+1 I bet she will suffer the Julien Wanders syndrome on the track. Super responder to the shoes - probably worth 3 minutes+ at her slower than the men's speed - but will easily get outclassed by the track specialists when she's forced to wear spiked or flats.
She has plenty of experience on the track -- did you not follow any of her other performances in 2020, or know that she ran the 1,500 while at American? Besides, every Nike athlete or shoe-wearing Nike runner will be wearing DragonFly track shoes, maybe an updated version for 2021. And non-Nike runners will have similar shoes developed by the other companies.
Cheptegei broke records in the Next%. He also broke track world records in DragonFly. Speed is speed.
