Levins, Linkletter and Preisner in the front group for lots of the race and still couldn't break 2:10. Sad.
Preisner did have a great showing considering he's only a 63 half guy

That negativity is what you took home today? Now THAT is what is sad.
Preisner and Wodak put on impressive performances! They won the day
The list of Canadians who go home devastated today includes
- Cam Levins
- Rory Link
- All other CDN women marathoners (as they now have to run under 2:26:17)
- Honourary CDN Sarah Inglis (11s off Olympic Standard for Scottland)

Where will Cam and Rory go... to try to get standard and grab the third spot?
I guess they could both still beat Ben P's time and boot him out, but Trevor's spot is guaranteed.
Sarah Inglis lives and works in Canada, but she is Scottish and not eligible to run for Canada.
Preisner did quite well.
Natasha Wodak did quite well too, running the second-fastest CDN marathon time ever.
So, I don't think "Canada" went home devastated.
As Des Linden said, "this is the day to do it." So it is a high risk/high reward venture "going for it."
Some Americans didn't do as well as they would have liked to. The beauty of it is the opportunity that was given to have a no real risk go-as-fast-as-you-wish marathon for the Americans.
Natasha Wodak killed it!! Good for her!!
There will be another race in April for them to run. Whether it’s an elite big city race or a similar event like the Marathon Project, there’s going to be opportunities.
