I love Tom Cruise even more than before.
Excellent actor, easy on the eyes, and a great leader!

If people are neglecting to follow COVID protocols and someone gets sick, production shuts down indefinitely, perhaps for good.
If production shuts down, Tom Cruise, who is producing the film, loses a sh*t load of money, and staff he is paying to work on the movie lose wages and possible their jobs.
This isn't even taking into account the health danger they are potentially putting their work colleagues in.
He is absolutely right to tear these people a new one for their negligence. Tom Cruise might be a bit of a loon, but everything he said in this video is 100% spot on. The people he was yelling at should be thankful he didn't fire them then and there!

Someone I know recently communicated that he stopped at a rest area during a long drive back during the holiday and someone was standing near him for just a minute, then started coughing and whatever while unmasked, almost in the direction of the person I know. Waited out about 2 weeks to see if there were any symptoms (none!).
What the hell does this mean? Is this supposed to be dispositive? Your one friend had someone cough near them "almost in [your friend's] direction." Are you dense?

How would you handle it differently?
The question is not rhetorical, I'm curious. I don't think the yelling and swearing did any good.
Oh no! The sky is falling! Wake up, it's a respiratory virus, just like every other respiratory virus that pops up every year, and has been popping up every year for a million years. We live in the natural world and respiratory viruses are part of it.
Move on, humans. We've been there before, and will continue to be here in the future.
The sky isn't falling. Hysteria rules!
"Nothing new here." is one of the biggest idiots I've seen on this website (that's saying a lot). He is clearly jyst somene who doesn't think the virus is a big deal, and worse, he doesn't understand that there are RULES around infections and filming and people will lose their jobs over failing to follow protocol. Not just because Tom Cruise says so.
I think you're all just soft and afraid of being yelled at. I've noticed this in a lot of my fellow runners.
Good for coach Cruise to tell it like it is. Their decision-making will decide the fate of the entire crew, as to whether they can make the movie. You can't handle the truth, that's your problem.
Elon Musk would yell and fire employees out of rage so much that they were warned not to walk by his desk, and he's the type to deny that COVID even exists and to whinge about his factories closed because of this little 312,000 people killing pandemic.
Bob Schul tried to be someone more than he actually was.
This midget Cruise and his cult following anti-family tax-frauding fake "religion" only has "a lot on the line" because no studios wanted to bankroll him after a decade of failed movies. Has be returned, yes, and that's fine. Good for him. But he's still a total dick even if he sends coconut bundt cakes to 100 liberals in Hollyweird every Christmas.
Nothing here and I'm surprised by his reaction. Tom is used to taking risks in business.
This is the most entertaining thread in a while. It is hilarious to see the complete about face of LetsRun posters because of the subject matter. I've been on here for over 15 years and virtually every time the name "Tom Cruise" comes up it results in endless posts of "He's a freak", "product of aliens", "Scientology loser", etc., etc., etc. He just gets made fun of on here. BUT ... the moment he mentions wearing a mask, he becomes a hero! People find it so easy to completely ignore the irrational tirade, the verbal abuse, the threats, the vulgar language, and the narcissism just because he said "wear a mask." If he would have said the exact same words but dropped the "wear a mask" part, he would be getting roasted on here like never before. Trump Derangement Syndrome is being replaced by Covid Derangement Syndrome.
Or instead of screaming and cursing like a toddler he could he have simply calmly stated “please do what you’re being asked to do or we are going to have to let you go.” Then if they don’t comply they are let go. Why childish behavior is condoned by anyone is absurd. Why we condone these “celebrities” acting like spoiled brats is ridiculous.
We are all gonna die someday. He’s not taking any of his fame or money with him but he will be remembered as a prick for stuff like this.
Oh and there’s a reason why these Hollywood actors are married 3-4 times. They are good at acting but not so much with real life people relationships.
Yes. Well put. Someone can file a workplace harassment suit and get some money without a problem at all.
Good for him. When it's you money on the line and when you can get sued or shutdown if someone gets sick at work (there have been numerous lawsuits like these across the country), I can understand his frustration. About 3/4 of cases have been traced back to people's homes and personal lives and only like 2% have been traced back to things like restaurants, but it doesn't mean people won't aim for deep pockets and governments won't shut down businesses on a whim. He may not agree with the laws, he may not like the rules, but as an employer and someone with deep pockets, he knows he will be a target for litigation. As an employer, you follow the law so that you cannot get sued.
Screaming at an employee is violating the law. I give it 48 hours before we see the lawsuit.

You sound soft. He was mean to them, oh no! Trump is soft. You must have voted for him.
Meanwhile the world has a shortage of farmers, medical workers, and educators. You know essential workers.
We really don’t need stage “workers” for mission impossible 35. Just so Tommy boy can bank more millions.
I liked it. I would especially like it if I was one of his employees that was following the protocols.
Alright. So I think it is clear that we have established on this thread that it is okay to scream at employees, threaten them with being fired, and berate them in front of their colleagues. Let's remember this thread when another situation comes up in the future. I am 100% fine with what Tom Cruise has done here.
Its amazing how the woke party who has been rioting about racial inequality seems to get so pumped about rich white people screaming at everyone else about following rules.
He did create one of the most embarrassing white boy fiascos on record.
