The finish line
I was jogging around at RunningLane and witnessed a high school girl break 16 minutes in a cross country race.
To witness a lady run so fast must be a very pleasant sight ☺️
Running in the desert I found a deserted graveyard with lots of unmarked graves.
Once a car full of college age girls followed my teammates and I around flashing us for no reason in particular.
I had to hurdle a couple having sex in the middle of the trail. They were at the crest, so I didn't know they were there until I was right on top of them. Another time on the same trail network I ran past some type of Furry convention.
Got lost on a dirt road in rural West Virginia. Folks out there had apparently never seen someone out for a jog. That whole experience was weird. Glad I made it back without getting killed by a pack of dogs.
1) Hurdled a baby deer with spots. Didn't see it until I was about to step on it.
2) A couple in the park doing the Clinton/Lewinsky
3) Chased by a pickup truck. The driver pulled over and came out with a rifle.
4) Chased by a swarm of bees. They were part of a colony on a farm. I ran fast to escape.
5) Chased by two Presa Canarios. Had to fight them off with fists.
OK, I get chased a lot.
Passed a lesbian porn photo shoot in a field near by running trail. Was tempted to go back, but was doing a 10 k time trial and kept going.
I would have asked to join in!
Running through a small park near a college and there were grown men practicing slides into 2nd base on the ball field in the park (a backstop and bases, but no home run fence). The men were in uniforms. It was the Cubs during spring training, back when things were much more casual.
A couple of years later after seeing the Cubs sliding into 2nd base at the park, I was running in the late morning around that same area, but this time I ran past several groups of college age or high school students who were sitting on the grass listening to music on radios or cassette players. This was unusual, and even more unusual was that some were crying, especially the women. I continued on my run, and found out later that day it was because John Lennon was killed the night before. I didn't know, as I hardly ever read the papers or watched TV unless for sports.
While I was warming up for a track race at a meet overseas, I returned to the waiting area and was shocked when my friend, who was also going to run, had been threatened with automatic weapons by the stadium security. We were the two foreigners, and he was just sitting on the floor under the stands, but the guards wanted to know where I was because they wanted the athletes to wait (or stretch) for many minutes until called to enter the track area.
That meet was in Seoul, South Korea in the summer of 1988, and was their Grand Prix track meet held prior to their hosting the Olympic games. The South Korean officials wanted their Olympics to be a dog-and-pony show for the world. Because of me, and I was just jogging in the practice track a few meters from the stadium and which was easy to check, the South Koreans put in place tight rules preventing athletes from warming up except as allowed. Johnny Gray complained that he was not allowed his normal routine of continuing to warm-up until near race time, and he thought that might have cost him a medal
A bunch of grown Amish men playing tackle football at a local middle school.
an older women walking on a running/walking trail that is around a local middle school topless. when I came back around for a 2nd look she was gone
My friend's wife saw a neighborhood dog catch a deer it was chasing when it slipped on ice. And killed it by ripping it's throat open.
Not how I would like to start my day

Running: In the cemetery that I run through near my home, I ran past a car. Normally there may be a car because someone has come to pay respects, but this time there were two guys playing with each other's weiners in the car.
Cycling: I used to see an Amish (or Mennonite) guy every Saturday morning that would ride his powerchair on the shoulder of the road to downtown. I would sometimes see him downtown later in the day. I figure when I passed him on my bike we were usually 7-10 miles outside of town.
There were 2 gangster looking guys on the river bike path. One was using a machete and flint to light a blunt, while the other was staring me down as I ran by with his hand in his pocket where he clearly had an uzi.
been stalked by a cougar (feline variety). Also pretty sure i've seen some skinwalkers. It was on a cold night (5 degrees F outside) yet there were people just off the trail, couldn't really see what they were wearing, but they all just stood and watched me jog by. Very eerie. I was in a super isolated running area too.
Was that definitely an uzi in his pocket or
Not the weirdest, but the funniest thing that ever happened to me on a run. I was on a run with a friend. We were just chatting about stuff. Started talking about this guy who ran around town wearing a luchador (Mexican wrestler) mask. Turned a corner and who was coming at us -- the guy in the luchador mask. We almost collapsed on the ground laughing.
Came off the trails onto a picnic area and saw 3 guys having sex. Same trails n on a single track saw a young lady on her knees doing the deed. That was awkward getting around them.
