I put the spikes in today and the shoes feel great. Anyone use the Kilkenny on the road without spikes? I have a pair of Next %, but these shoes feel great.

Never had the spikes but I've used the flats for years now on every surface. They've been great.
I have run in the Saucony Kilkenny XC8 flat for the majority of the last few months. Probably have 500 miles on the current pair - they never felt particularly responsive/fast, but they have proven to be more durable than I expected when I first wore them. I wear them on pavement and grass - I wouldn't feel like they had enough cushion for me on gravel or rocky terrain.
I was a big fan of the original Saucony Kilkenny flat, and put maybe 1200 miles on the only pair I had (by far the most miles I've ever put on a single pair of shoes).
I just ordered these too! I was wondering the same thing. Back in high school I had an older version, white and orange, and I set all of my still standing PRs in those spikes

I've never had the spikes either. Only Kilkenny beer! It's a great Irish brew which you can get in the States.

The shoe actually is named for the beer.
