Hi forum,
I'm a track/cross country runner, and I run the 800, 1600, and 3200. I have flat feet and I over pronate. I was wondering if I should get spikes for track this year. I've ran with spikes in the past, but I'm not sure if it would be best for me to just use regular training shoes. When I used spikes in the past I got shin splints. That could be because of the spikes, and that could also be because I was new to running competitively and tried to increase my mileage by too much too fast. I've also had knee issues, which could have been caused by flat feet. It could also be because I ran in old trainers and didn't get new ones for a while. As of now, I have no injuries or irregular pains with running. I have a pair of Nike Zoom Rival MD 8s from a while back. Should I use spikes this year? If so, should I use the old ones (they have less than 25 miles on them)? If I should get new ones, do you have any specific recommendations for flat feet and pronation?
Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
