You really think the 428 Mile, and 9:35 3200 M Mary Cain records are a lock?

Tuohy was a sophomore when she set her record and then never ran faster.... Hopefully though Jenna continues to improve. They mentioned that she's coached by Drew Hunter's mom, so she's getting excellent coaching.
Actually Katelyn Tuohy improve quite a bit through sophomore into her junior year. But then she got injured and that's really when the improvements stopped
I think the lesson here is to look at what happened to Katelyn Tuohy and Mary Kane and make sure the eyes on the future and not the immediate Glory
From what I can see Hutchins is pretty aware of that and isn't running a lot of miles so maybe we'll actually have a high school Phenom who can keep it going for a while

No, but it's a lot more fun to be estatically positive about everything than to live in the real world...
But 1:58 800 m... No doubt!
The mile is not. I was referring to the 3k, 3200, 2 mile, and 5k.
Runnerspace has a photo on Instagram of Ms. Hutchins next to the finish clock.

well let's hope the people around Hutchins aren't as fanatical as you. She ran a 9:50 with two Pacers a couple of months ago
Try to improve by 15 seconds when you're already at this level in a short time is crazy and a recipe for disaster

My prediction: 15:35.
Wow you were close
What do you think a 16 year old boy would run for 3200 who runs 15:34? If you say 9:45, you are not being honest. I would say 9:25. Hutchins would have run 9:30 today.

I think that 16 yo boy is probably much faster at 400 than Jenna (or almost all girls), which helps in races shorter than 5,000 m.
Wow, incredible running by Jenna! I didn't think Tuohy's 15:37 would be surpassed so soon. Setting an u20 record at 16 is pretty insane too.
If Footlocker Nationals happened this year, it might have just been the year that Melody Fairchild's 16:39 record at Balboa would have been taken down. We might see it next year though since she's still just a junior!
Hope the best for her and her future moving forward. She's used covid quarantine to sharpen up her fitness and all that hard work is definitely paying off. That discipline and self motivation can really take her places, regardless of whatever pursuits she has running related or not.
How many 16 yr old boys do you know who have run a track 5k, let alone 15:34 on a track? Comparing runninglane times to today, ask what the 15:55 XC 16yr old boys would do in the 3200.
Not 9:30.

Dude you are so far out there it's annoying. Do you have any familiarity with running or track times. Or are you just making this up as you go along
Katelyn Tuohy ran 1537 and then ran 947 a couple months later
Hutchins man 1534 and that equates to a 9:45
This is a legit record and a really nice performance. Let's face it Katelyn ran indoors with constant interference and no Pacers
They're fairly equal performances just from a where you're at or your current ability standpoint
So to say she's going to run a 9:25 either just means you're clueless about track and field conversions or just being fanatical or trolling. Someone who can run a 925 can run a 1515 5K

Uhhh... he's making it up as he goes along. Look at it this way. She broke the record by three seconds this time, missed it by two seconds last time
To think that she's going to smash the record by 23 seconds in a shorter race is pretty far out there
But hey isn't that what the internet's for, let's get wild, let's be crazy, why not three girls breaking 4:20 in the mile. Or 1:55 in the 800

Not 9:30.
Completely anecdotal but I had a 15:56 XC PR this year, ran 16:03 at RunningLane (think I could have shaved a few seconds off if the very large field wasn't slowing down on the corners) and ran a 9:40 3200m 1 week before RunningLane. She will definitely hit at least 9:30 in the spring
Using the IAAF Performance Scoring a 15:34.47 5000m outdoors for a woman equates to a score of 1097
For 2 miles a 1097 converts to ~ 9:43.15
For 3000m ~ 9:02.68
I used this calculator
I tried 2 converters both of which said a 9:00 3,000 meters was equivalent to 15:35 5,000 meters.
So this high school girl is basically faster than the GOAT Kilian.

Let's also keep in mind Carmen Alder at 15:37, almost as fast as Tuohy ran. She's an NC senior going to BYU, should be some bright things in her future as well, major props! I think this was an impressive run on both accounts, she definitely deserves some highlighting too!

NO: Carmen Alder ran 16:37 (SIXTEEN, 37)...
