He ran 46 for that 200. And he stopped and jumped a little before he continued, and wasn't tired when he finished. I think he has the same talent as his brothers.
But his brothers will most likely be retired when he grows up, so it can be be hard for him to do all the work alone. And if the father is motivated to continue to be a coach, I don't know...
46 for 200 at 12 yo isn't that big of a deal lol
I used to run 2k (cross country races) at 46 per 200 pace (3:50/km) at 12 yo, and I wasn't even among the best.
Of course I'm not saying he isn't as talented as his brothers, just that 46/200 isn't a great indication of his talent.

It's extremely rare for someone to become a world class runner without having brothers to train with.
Whoops sorry, I thought seeing in OP post 12 years old instead of "in 12 years".
If he's under 10 yo, yea that's very good.

He’s 6 years old, and appears to already have good form.

.
He was in trainers. Put some spikes on and we are talking 44 low.......
I was just thinking I wonder what the progression in training is. Wonder what age he starts doing double workouts.
He is like Gjert's "Mini-Me" lol. Spittin image.
Does anyone else have a problem getting IG or FB to unmute videos? Seems independent of browser.

No need to grumble. The brothers state many times that it has been really important for them to train together. And specially for Jakob, he has strechted himself bit for bit to catch up with his brothers.
When William grows up, and his brothers already retired, and his father also older and retired, it would clearly be more difficult than with Jakob's situation.
Gjert already told they are looking forward to the time he and his wife can spend more time together, and not 100% focus for the running career for the boys...That means Gjert has to wait until his 70...

-----------------
Jakob started to train with his older brothers at a reduced schedule when he was 13-14.
If William would like to do the same Jakob will at that time be 27-28 and younger that Henrik is now!
So William can possibly get some help from a still active Jakob if William decides to go all in.

It's not benificial to be pushed to some superhuman effort in interval workouts by other runners. Doing so will lead to injuries or burn out.
Runners can achieve their potential either training alone or in a group that doesn't necessarily include their brothers.
The Ingebrigtsens are successful because they are extremely talented and not because they got an early start, have a father that is the best coach in the world or because they train together.
Talent yes. But. You should not underestimate the tradition of an extreme scientific approach to all sports in Norway, a procedure Gjert has benefited from and adopted.

The most recent list I could find was 2018 and the 4th and 5th best 1500 runners in Norway ran times of 3:38 and 3:43n respectively. Only the Ingebrigtsens seem to be benefiting from this extreme scientific approach.

As per European-athletics.org:
6 norwegians, 4 of them non -Ingebrigtsens, top 100 and sub 3.42 this year in Europe this year.
9 norwegians, 8 of them non-ingebrigtsens, top 100 and sub 14 in the 5k in Europe this year.
Norway has less than 0,7% of Europe's population, at least if looking at all that are eligible to qualify for that top 100 list.
Anyone paying attention on this forum last few years should know by now that running is very much a marginal sport for endurance athletes in this small country as especially cross country skiing and to some extent cycling have taken the bulk of the talent pool.
No doubt Henrik Ingebrigtsen and his brothers have paved the way and helped recruitment last few years.
My son threw down a 59 point 200m when he was 4. The really impressive part of that performance was that he was wearing his Batman Backpack when he did it.
Fast forward 19 years and the boy parlayed that performance into a 3:23 marathon - which is #3 on the All Time Immediate Family list behind his father and his mother.
Obviously he's doping
I would literally destroy a 46 second 200m runner and I suck at speed
