I don't know much about why the Clemson XC/TF programs are being cut but it was clearly NOT a racist act like the video above suggests. The statistics provided in the video are intentionally deceptive. It is clear that the activist athletes are using the current political climate to their favor in an attempt to gain national coverage.
Do you really think that the administrators who made this decision got statistics on the percentage of black people in each sport and made cuts based on that alone? It was clearly a difficult and complex decision. Claiming the University is racist with little evidence is a bad look for the activists that wish to see XC/TF reinstated.
How is it that in the past few months XC/TF has been considered one of the most diverse sports and a sport that has always excluded black people such as in the NYT article below? I personally cannot support a group that is so obviously deceptive, manipulative, and disingenuous as the activists that want to save the XC/TF program.
