Too bad
This is really unfortunate. NJNYTC was one of my first interests in professional running when I was in hs. Kyle Merber was always a hero of mine as well.
The article made it seem like Kyle doesn't know what he's going to do at this point. He's 30--is he thinking of retiring? Seems like he might still have some good times left in him if he stays healthy... That is if HOKA would be willing to resign him.
All in all just seems like a disappointment. Clearly HOKA is reallocating its resources into NAZ where they have talent and wins to prove their success. I understand the move, it's just sad.
They’ll probably run better now.
Hoka is too small to survive the Pandemic and continue to sponsor at the same level. It is obviously an emergency otherwise they would give them another 6 months.
NAZ is running well but they are getting old In 2024 Kellyn, Lauren, and Steph will all be nearly 40. Aliphine has already indicated that she wants to start a family. She has not done one thing since the OT. The men have Fauble and a couple foreign athletes. They need to get young fast.
Gags will land on his feet. He always does.
1. Reebok Enclave
2. Farm Team
3. OTC
4. NYNJ

You do realize Hoka is owned by a Deckers Corp, who's revenue is around $2 Billion a year, right?
Deckers Corp stock is currently at $285 per share...Up from $162 the same time last year.
I'd hardly call that "small"
A lot of injuries the last few years with NJNY. Maybe it’s best they are not in fat man shoes anymore lol
Thats a shame. A lot of talent in that crew. Someone will pick them up
Do you listen to the podcast? Do you understand what they're doing with NAZ Elite? That's where the money is going.
And from the sounds of it, their money is flowing faster.
Get your head on.
This sucks , I kind of thought they had a good core group and are better than many clubs and pro groups. Idk. Sure Don Cabral and Johnny G Made some teams, Merber is a great runner when healthy and then they had Colby Alexander show some great promise. What’s the deal with NAZ Elite? Are they shipping all these dudes out to altitude now?
Your list also made me think, how great of a coach is Gags, really? Are all the groups you mentioned just passing the buck to one another? Or is it just the nature of the sport where pro groups are basically startups and destined to burn out?
Injuries are part of running. Especially at the highest levels. Like most elite clubs and their funding, things change. As in the past, athletes will seek out Gags and he'll continue to develop talent.

Sponsorship = marketing budgetary item
NJNY unfortunately has a fraction of the visibility of NAZ or a slew of SM influencers, it no longer made sense to spend that finite amount of money on a group that may not be seen racing (NJNY's prime visibility, by choice) for several more months after several months of little to nothing.
The biggest news is that Trautman and Nohilly are forming their own team while Gags looks to move forward with NJNYTC. Hoping it was an amicable split; but doubting it.
I thought that was interesting. Both trautman and nohilly were former athletes of coach gags and coached with him for a few years . Why are they moving away from gags and the group ?
Gotta grow up someday I guess, why live in your old coach’s shadow
Also Gregorek will be taking advice from the three he said so I think they’ll probably be on good terms
Is Gags the coach he once was? He is getting old.....

NAZ just signed Tyler Day in October.

Unfortunately from what I've heard and observed, no.

come on the only one in the group who has a chance to make a team is Johnny G and he is with asics.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
