This guy runs 2:10 and you are worrying about him on your relays? We have 15 guys who run under 2:10 on our team. Stop worrying. You sound sillly.
All teams are different. And this is the shape he is in currently after taking 2 weeks off he is not in peak condition right now.
Are you sophomores, juniors or seniors. Might help the discussion, because if both of you are seniors, then "Teammate of yours" is correct in that it won't make much difference what either of you run.
We had 5 guys who could run 1:56 or faster my junior year, and senior year we had 8 guys that would have broken 1:57. As for fresh-soph, my soph year we had 4 that could break 2:10, including in April my 2:06 and my teammate's 2:00. If we both ran the race around mid-May, I would have run 2:01 and he would have run 1:57, but he was 400 and I was running miles and 2-miles.
If you are juniors, sure we all understand the lack of spring track during your sophomore year, so what kind of 800m did you and your teammate run during indoors 2020, as well as spring track 2019? Maybe add the 400m and 1600m times for both of you for spring 2019 and indoors 2020?
