Depends on how much the other guy brings to the table and if the HC feels he can take on the role burns had. He may be great in his current role but it may not be the fit the HC is looking for as the head XC coach. In the SEC or most P5 you can’t simple give someone a shot unless you feel they have what it takes to adapt and prosper. It will be open for applicants to

if they hang onto halter (no indication they won’t), they’ll probably promote smith and bring in someone behind him. keeping burns on as a volunteer buys them some time to evaluate if he’s ready. from a competition standpoint they should clean house and bring in some new blood (all track and field staff, not just XC). they won’t do that though.
So much for Conly. UW & Jason Schutz back together again.

"will be responsible for the oversight of sprints and distance"
Not sure how you do that but good luck!

Maybe they don’t really have short sprints and she’ll coach what they have, along with 400/800 runners or maybe just time the LD kids to help the HC. I would think he wants to coach the 800 kids tho

Yeah maybe, just can't ever remember seeing a job description like that before.
For those of you going to convention remember you are always interviewing

When did Waite become head coach at Delaware? He had been trying to backstab Wendy for years, I guess he finally succeeded in taking her down.
This post was removed.
NAU is a highly sought job. Who are the front runners? Assuming the hiring will be very quick at this time of year
More like Wendy has been shooting herself in the foot for years and it finally caught up to her. He’s been head coach for almost 6 months now.
No one wants to take job this time of year though.... Tough situation. Plus it's a bit spendy to live in Flagstaff. So salary is an issue for big names. Mid major guy likely.

Wendy was winning. Waite is diminishing the track team to build cross country, but his cross team has gotten worse since 2019.
Waite is a slimeball and a snake. There is no sprints/jumps/hurdles coach on staff now. He hired a young 800 runner who he's going to have coach the sprints.
His sprint recruits are a 5'2 high jumper, a 61 second 400m runner, a 12.7 100m sprinter, a walk-on that can't be found on milesplit, and a 15.44 hurdler. Their track program is DEAD, they might as well be cross country only.
