99% of you kids here have 1000x more god given talent that I ever had. All I had going for me was reckless abandon and determination to beat the dirty SOB in front of me. From DAY ONE I knew each and every red headed twig in front of me I wanted to BEAT.

I know you're trying to get hyped bro but I must spoil it. Gerry Lindgren used very similar talk. You two were both already talented, yall just didnt look the part yet.
Perfect example. Lindgren was 120lbs soaking wet and we are the same height. I was never below 140lbs. Even running 100-140mi a week in my 20s. I think I got down to 137lb starving myself, not eating meat, etc for a few weeks. That was a dark alley I immediately backed out of as the lack of food and protein just wasn't conducive to good training. You can't change your genetics, bone structure, etc. but you can run decently well in spite of them.
I obviously had some talent, ability to train hard and long and not break down, ran a 1:04 400m with no training as an 8th Grader, :59 as a Frosh, lifetime PR :56 in HS. So it's something.
Heck, my first 3200m wasn't until my Soph year and I only ran it once at 10:29 early season then 4:28 end of the season 1600m. The following year I would start to focus on the 3200m more as we had some seniors who could bang out 4:30 as well.
