Had Tim Tebow been willing to be used more as an athlete instead of a backup qb, could he still be in the league serving a Taysom Hill like role?

Yes.
Hill has shown that he is a great asset to an NFL team. Coming off of the bench here and there is much different than starting QB. This is only his second start, so we will see. Judging from right now, and all things considered, If I got to make the pick, I would go with Tebow.

Please note how Hill can actually play like a NFL QB versus the out of control, albeit athletic, movements of Tebow.

Of course the Broncos tried to utilize Tebow's running ability. During his career he had about 200 rushing carries and 360 PAs. He had a super slow release and was one the most inaccurate passers in history. He wasn't much different than having a running back play QB.

It wasn't his choice. Jesus wanted him to stick with the QB position.

Who knows, Hill is pretty unique athlege to have been able to play so many positions. I dont really think the comparison to Tebow is a good one. Not sure Tebow would have be great anywhere but maybe tight end.
Its amazing after not playing QB for four years Hill has played as well as he has at QB, not withstanding today wasn't great, but he wasn't really the focus of the offense today either.

Jesus doesn't make anyone do anything.
Tebow's problem was that he didn't have running-back speed. He was a pure fullback, in terms of size and speed. Not fast enough to get to the edge on RPO plays, which makes it much easier to defend. Combine that with his slow release, and you have a recipe for a short career.
But I bet Denver would have been happy to have him out there today.

I can't disagree with that. Tebow was an amazing college quarterback. He was the all time SEC QB efficiency leader when he left. I didn't expect him to be an NFL hall of Famer, but thought he would do more. He was fun to watch. I do like Hill though, but don't think he has the passing ability, nor experience to lead the Saints deep into the playoffs.
