First female to make a football play for a Power 5 school.
Nice that she had a chance to do something special in unusual circumstances with Vandy short of players. She'll always have that memory. She squibbed it intentionally and they lost the game 41-0, but she'll always have that memory.
It won't alter sports, open floodgates, or shatter glass ceilings. It was a unique moment. Congrats Sarah Fuller.

didn't look like an intentional squib to me

Here is the kick:

Good for her and a life long memory. However, I think that most decent high school girl soccer players would have had the same performance and possibly even a better kick than that.

Here's a different angle. Looks like she was aiming for that empty spot near the side line.

ESPN showed her warming up before the game. Her leg didn't look strong on FG warm ups. -

As soon as I saw yesterday that this was going to be happening, I knew that the LR misogynists would have a field day with it. -

Agreed. Just a shîtty kick. Why bring someone on for a position that is going to do an inferior job? Just to “break barriers” that are just common sense?
Can we get a more appropriate number of Asians in the nba then? -
Welll since my college does not have men's track and field any longer, can I run on the girls team as a 800 runner? Their 800 runner is not very good.
Now for those of you saying I'm an a hole for this comment - what is the difference between fuller and me running on the girls team. -
I’m all for women empowerment but they didn’t even respect her enough to let her kick it down the field. Seemed like more of a publicity stunt than anything. I’m sure she is a very fine soccer player

I was impressed until I saw she was a kicker. When we have a female linebacker then I'll be impressed.

Great news for men's athletic programs that have been getting cut all over the place.
FOOTBALL can now be considered a co-ed sport for Title IX purposes. No longer will men's programs get screwed in the name of equality.
And we have Sarah Fuller to thank for it. -

.
You don't understand. She was aiming for the sideline so that she could give the receiving team the ball at the 35 yard line. Uh, nevermind. -
The Commodore made it look “Easy like Sunday Morning”.

Untrue. She is taking a male scholarship. The earlier poster is correct that he should be able to run if his school does not have a male track team. This small step for women is a giant leap toward the elimination of female sports. One-gender or better stated as non-gender sports are here and will take off quickly.
-
Women need to stay away from football. It's clearly a men's sport.

I have nothing against a female or a certain race, etc being the first to do something, but it should be earned. We as a society should not be praising this, all this does is take away people’s incentive to work hard and make them victims. Pick me because I’m a female, let me get into that school because I’m a certain race, I bet everyone of the guys on that team including the lineman could have kicked just as bad. To make a spectacle of it, is frankly embarrassing...

+2 for observation. -

Was definitely intentional. Presuming she doesn’t have the leg strength to reach the end zone, it’s probably better to squib to the 35 with no return than kick it to the 15 or 20 yard line in the air. Additionally, it removes any chance of her getting hit.
The whole thing is a dumb publicity stunt. I would bet my life that there are men on campus who could kick off better. Women shouldn’t be on the football field.
