Recently
I was motivated at the start of the pandemic and ran a low 32 10k back in May while training for a fall marathon. Then, I lost focus a bit, but was still running decently until mid October putting in 80ish mpw. At that time, I figured I was still in sub 16:00 5k shape and was near my regular racing weight. Then, the XC season (I coach) started ramping up and my own running took a huge backseat.
Over the last 6 weeks, I averaged 42 mpw with 0 workouts. I have been eating crap and drinking too much beer. I’ve gained 17 lbs. It’s time to turn around. To kickstart my fitness, I ran a 5000m TT on the track this morning. It was 28 degrees, no wind, and I wore my 4%s. Guess my time. Will update with the correct answer tonight or tomorrow.
