I'm planning out the off-season and spring track & field season (HS)
Traditionally, I'm conservative and go with 2 workouts a week plus a Long Run and a day with Speed Development, which might look like this...
M- LT Intervals + Short Reps
T- Rec Run
W- End + Hill Sprints
Th- Tempo + Short Reps
S- Long Run
S- Off
However, I can't ignore the success of Vigil, Gags and others that have a more density to their training; something along the lines of:
M- LT Intervals
T- Rec Run
W- Tempo Run + Hill Sprints
Th- Rec Run
F- Short Reps
S- Long Run
S- Off
Which general format is more appropriate for HS students?
