Today because of Covid cancelling all of the traditional Turkey Trots, I was thinking to myself about past Turkey Trots. My perception of Turkey Trots - and maybe this isn't actually valid - is normally they are the opportunity for a B rate pro to get in super shape and get a win and some pub over A rate pros who aren't in super shape.
That being said, the Turkey Trot I remember the most is from 10 years ago and it involved 2 A teamers in Alan Webb and Galen Rupp. It still blows my mind that just 10 years ago Webb beat Rupp on Thanksgiving 13:34 to 13:37.
How did that happen? What are your fondest Turkey Trot memories? Is my perception that it's normally a shine day for B teamers accurate?
