Why would you not create a new line of shoes, instead of using the Boston name? This is a completely different shoe, so loyal customers will be shocked when they ask for a Boston in their LRS.
But then again, adidas named their carbon racers in the most idiotic way possible...
Sad to see the Boston line go away if this is true.
Some runners like me think that Boston 9 along with Boston 8 version 2 are completely different shoes due to the use of Lightstrike rather than Boost (TPU) in the forefoot. I can't even get the Boston 8 version 2 to stretch enough in the toe box to make them comfortable enough to run in. Boston 6 fit my feet fine right out of the box. Boston 7 and 8 version 1 required some breaking in but are great after that. I just ran a marathon this month in a pair of Boston 6 shoes that had only the mileage of my prior race from 2019 on them. I use the ugly orange $42 Boston 8 version 1 shoes for tempo runs. I am glad I stocked on Boston 8 version 1 at $42 as I won't be buying newer versions unless the fit of version 10 improves for me.
I am posting now as the 2021 Boston Marathon shoe is now listed for sale. It is still at version 9. So all these months later adidas is still releasing new colorways of Boston 9 rather than releasing 10.
