This is unprecedented. Looks like anti-vaxxers will be barred from flying.

When I saw this, I wondered if other businesses would require vaccine proof. Then I realized after front line and first responders are vaccinated, old people and fat people would then be next. Only after these groups are vaccinated would young and healthy people get to be vaccinated. Makes me wonder if young and/or fit people will be "discriminated" against to access to things.
Hey, they've never crashed. They seem to know what they are doing at Qantas.
If you travel enough, you run up against this stuff. I had to have proof of a yellow fever vaccine to board a flight to Bolivia once. Most people who travel overseas a lot have the shots...you can get a little yellow card that lists them. I expect covid vaccine to go on that card, and then I can finally fly again..
I agrees. People are so selfish and self-centered and is not thought about the people around them.

As they should. Australia has a covid death rate of 33 per million. USA rate is 800 per million.
If I was Australian, I'd tell people, get vaccinated before coming to my country.
The Wakefield study on MMR and autism was one of the worst examples of pseudoscience ever foisted on a gullible public seeking any explanation for autism.
Good for them, after all they've done to basically eliminate WTF would they want it to come back into their country? I do think a negative test three days before travel should be accepted in lieu of vaccination though. Not everyone can have a vaccine.

This is great. Anti-vaxxers are too dumb to entertain me on a long flight to Australia anyway.
Makes it more likely to get interesting passengers :)
Are you a plane talker?
As someone who was traveling internationally 5-6 times a year pre-covid I have no problem with this at all. And why not include proof of vaccination as part of the your Global Entry/TSA Pre profile.

That's a weirdly specific category.

I wish but gorillas tend to get executed when trying to make friends :-(

I wouldn't say it's unprecedented bart. Vaccinations are required to travel to certain countries.
I know but for civilians en masse like this it is unprecedented. Military members have to get a bunch of shots before even entering basic training.

It is not unprecedented at all. Do you have kids?
"All children under eighteen years of age that enter a California public or private elementary or secondary school for the first time or transfer between schools must present a written immunization record that includes at least the month and year of receipt of each dose of required vaccines"
That's why more and more parents are home schooling these days, plus being healthier and getting a better education.
I have been done with flying since they out in those x-ray machines
But they’re letting people fly now?
...and BTW, this is not a government proposition. This has been proposed by a private company that have the right to refuse customers posing a risk
Great news, I’m going to fly Qantas as much as possible now.

The same for me.
