I made the foolish decision to sign up for a 10k in February and a half in April, then the February race got postponed to the week before the half. So now I have 2 races I wanted to take seriously just 7 days apart. Is it realistic to try and go all-out for both? How could I approach it in terms of tapering etc.?
I have 2 races on back to back weeks

It's just a 10k and a HM.
Just go for it and report back. -
If you work off the rule of thumb, of 1 days rest for every mile raced, then you're fine. 10k = 6 miles and you've got 7 days before your half. Easy.

10k at 7 days out is a good tune up, especially with a good mileage base. Just make sure you make recovery a priority in between races. If you typically do a Tues/Wed workout, keep it low stress and low volume.

Best response I've seen yet on any thread...
Others say okay...I suggest choose one or the other.
Can't you get a 10K closer to February, maybe early March? Is Britain that closed up? Ireland perhaps? -
You'll be fine. If a 10K wipes you out so badly that you can't run well the following weekend, you haven't trained properly.
