Today with about 200 meters left in my long run l crossed paths with two dogs that didn't have dog a dog leash on. I kinda had to slow down and run around them, now it was dark as well, so this made things worse, but the owner said," move along nothing to worry about ", in a very sarcastic tone. At first glance l couldn't tell if they had a very long leash on because in that case l didn't want to get hurt, so l asked him do they have a leash on? I could get seriously hurt if I tripped over the leash, but he seemed proud of the fact that they had no leash on, eventhough it's posted that there is a $25 dollar fine for doing so. I told him off and he said something nasty back that l couldn't make out what it was. How would you handle the situation? He was gone before l could report him to the park. You never know who your dealing with as well, he could be like Russell Crow in that new movie "Unhinged ". How should the situation be dealt with?
How would you handle this situation with this crazy dog owner

Try to get the dogs to give chase so you can work on your kick.
Then thank the owner for the wonderful training opportunity. -
Yeah, often dogs go for the legs and take you out or trip you, plus it was hard for me to see the dog because it had just gotten dark. You can get hurt, plus he was walking along in the bike lane with out a care in the world. A cyclist could get seriously hurt.

A thousand times I've had dog encounters and a thousand times, just like yours, none of were of consequence. You could get hurt seriously by a dog leash? Surely you're not serious, Shirley?

Are you being funny? Try running at a 6 something pace and someone have a leash, very long leash in front of your path that you can't see. I imagine that hitting the pavement at 10 mph face first would cause a lot of damage, but the dude didn't even have a leash. Now imagine a dog tripping you at 10mph, exactly. Not fun! -

It's disrespectful, dangerous, as well as against the law. Not to far from this exact spot a dog unleashed dog ran in front of a cyclist and he was seriously hurt, brain damage and so on. All because someone didn't care to follow city or park rules. Not so funny if that was you. -

My teammate in high school went down on a run because of that. The dog all of a sudden darted over and the leash tripped him. It was one of those really long retractable ones. -

I run 9 minute miles. I frequently pass by folks with dogs on leashes. Rarely will the owner show an extra bit of concern or restraint on their dog; for example move the dog to the far edge of the trail. When I'm in the last miles of a long run, I'm not as spry and alert as usual. I've been tripped up twice by leashed dogs. Not quite landmines, and even though I was able to get up and finish my runs I had some scrapes and bruises. It's not an imaginary danger. Don't be an a$$hole. -
I ran by a homeless person this morning. He looked a little bit scary and I was worried that he might try to harm me. But he didn't do anything and I just ran by uneventfully. HOW SHOULD I HANDLE THIS SITUATION WITH THIS CRAZY HOMELESS PERSON!!!????
