It really seems weird to me. The two top Norwegian triathletes going to Florida had me thinking.
Norway has pretty much been spared of COVID at this point. It’s the European country with the lowest death per capita.
Now, why would these two Norwegian triathletes board a transatlantic flight to go to Florida, which is in worse shape than the average US State right now.
I guess that it would be fine if they decided to stick around Florida for the next 3 or 4 months, but travelling back to Norway after that?
What is the point? Why is this event being held?
I’m ok with local events being held, but international events don’t make any sense to me (at this point). Certainly not in Florida. The situation is not under control there. For sure, the actual event will be fine, but that is really irrelevant. They will be at the “event” for 3 or 4 hours, but be in Florida for 4 or 5 days...
I guess that the half marathon in Spain in a couple of weeks also doesn’t make any sense. Spain is in worse shape than Florida right now...
