As we enter the tenth month of this "pandemic", still know nobody who has gotten sick or even tested positive for the virus.
But be afraid. Very afraid.
And do whatever foolish and dangerous thing we tell you to
You talkin' to me, Unkle?
What makes you think I'm "afraid"? I offered to host Thanksgiving dinner. It was my parents & in-laws who deemed it to be to great a risk, not I. I choose to go in to the office at work, and I choose to put my kids in school. My daughter rides horses on the weekend, and my son takes karate, which was recently shut down by the governor, to my chagrin. That's all we need to be happy and live a normal life.
I'm fine, but other folks are facing the prospect of losing their livelihoods and/or businesses because someone (i.e. the governor) has decided to make crucial, life-altering decisions on their behalf.
I have no doubt the virus is "real". 7 co-workers in my relatively small office have had it, as well as 4 friends/family. Several of these folks were not in great shape to begin with, but all have recovered fully except for 1 who was in very poor health prior to catching covid. He's currently in the hospital, not in critical care, but more serious than the others.
It's possible for the virus to be real but for individual risk to be low, which it is by all accounts for those under the age of 65 who have no other health issues. Those who are at risk know exactly who they are. If your health is worse than that of our 74 year-old obese president, who easily dominated covid, then you are already aware of it. If that is the case, then hunker down -- a vaccine is on its way.
