I'd like to know how the participants were selected. If they simply put up a message, "Looking for people to answer survey about period," I'd think the people responding were way more likely to be people severely impacted by their period.
So I think these numbers could be way high due to how it was set up (but haven't taken the time to read it). -

Science gal's point is interesting. I've personally never had any symptoms (until I got an IUD, then I started getting cramps), and I probably would not participate.
Also, the average age of participants was 38.3. That's a bit odd, as it's close to perimenopausal. That means close to half the women surveyed were in their 40s?
That said, it's nice to see research on this subject.
