During this era of Covid, many tv news reporters and others are appearing from home. It seems most prefer to be seated in front of a bookshelf during these shoots.
Have you noticed any interesting titles in these shots?

Not a book, but I saw Prince’s “Parade” album behind Michael Holley tonight.
When reporters wear masks by themselves ?

Haven’t seen that.
I don’t watch the news, but I do notice co-worker’s backgrounds. I have a boss that has a very diverse bookshelf immediately behind his leather lounge chair. He does not work at a desk; his workspace looks like where I’d fall asleep watching football. Nice, big, burgundy leather chair. Awesome.
Back to the topic at hand... he has Mein Kampf sitting immediately next to Knausgaard’s 6 My Struggle books. I want to ask him which author he read first. He is Jewish, and practicing, so it’s not a concern.
I was watching some guy on the news (CBS? I think) who was clearly just at his kitchen table or something and there was a small coffee table next to him where he had stacked 3-4 random books perfectly on top of each other. It was quite obvious they were out of place and deliberately put there to add some sophistication to his otherwise average dining room. I chuckled to myself but this thread caught my eye as I was thinking the same thing about reporters trying to look educated even when they're stuck in their houses. We get it, you have a regular house. It's ok to look normal a little. I have an area in my house that one entire wall is a built in bookshelf but it's also the place where my kids have ALL their toys literally ALL OVER the floor. Putting that on the news would be a disaster. I'd rather be on my deck.
1984 should appear on all of their bookshelves.
