I ran 3k time trial on road but it was on a 1k way, so I had to turn backs after each Ks. I think I lost about 2,5 seconds (between deceleration, and then acceleration) for each 1k stop.
However I found it quite taxing to re-accelerate after each stops, so I'm wondering if I could have lost even more time ?
3K in 12minutes but with hard stop after each 1k ... how much time lost ?

how narrow was the road that you couldn't do a looping u-turn? I've run plenty of road races with u-turns and have never had to come to a complete stop. For 2 stops, if you stopped completely each time that would probably cost you 6-8 seconds total.
