Just finished it months later. The ending was a bit too perfect IMO.

There’s a theory that she went into a coma after she hit her head drinking in her house, and the rest of the story is her imagination. I usually dislike these types of theories, but this one makes as much sense as all her ex-boyfriends/ friends ending up in NYC to give her chess advice before the last match. One of them is a grocery store manager in Kentucky, why would he travel all that way just to give her a phone call!? Besides parts of the last episode like that I thought it was a good series overall.
