Sixth to complete the distance could be Josphat Boit, 25yo, whose PB of 59.19 was when third in Stresa, Italy, in 2018. Was fifth here last year in 61.18 and won over 15k in Valencia in 2018 in 42.02.
Next might be Leonard Barsoton, 26yo, fourth in Valencia last year in his PB of 59.09. Then in Dec won over 25k in Kolkata in 73.05, the CR: taking 43 sec from Kenenisa Bekele's time. That put him in the rarified air of being among the greats of the last decade in distance running. He completed the last 5k in 14 min flat and his 73.05 came close to times only run by Kimetto, Kipchoge, and Moses Mosop. Mosop on the track in Eugene in 2011 passed 25000m on the way to 30000 in 72.25.4 hand timed; Kipchoge passed 25k on his way to the marathon WR in 72.24; and Kimetto in 2012 ran 25k on the roads in Berlin in 71.18. Barsoton was 6th in this year's World half Champs.
