Unfortunately you wouldn't have survived 20min in that water temperature, sad learning from the Fastnet disaster. So no heroic survival dream ;-)

Have an up vote sir.
Is this an allegory of sorts for the Trump presidency? Was touted as the “best presidency ever, all the best presidency” but was actually totally screwed from the outset due to a design failure and stubborn bravado. Became very cold, many suffer, only way to survive is to get very drunk. Seems like the last 4 years to me.

It would have been epic to be on the Titanic. I would have just swum over to the iceberg and climbed up and literally chilled until rescue. I don't get why so many people died. I would just chill in the first class lounge, drink a few beers, have some snacks and when the water reached me I would just swim to the iceberg and bring some stuff with me. I would probably carry a bag of warm blankets with me and hold it over the water. It would have sucked for a few minutes but then I would be safely on the iceberg out of the water. It would be dumb to just sit there in the water doing nothing while you start dying
But the iceberg was literally 100 feet tall with sheer sides. And the water was ice cold.
I say no way would you of made it.
I would bring knives with me from the 1st class lounge area and use them to dig into the ice and climb up the iceberg. I would only be in the water from the time the 1st class lounge fills with water and I reach the iceberg. I would light a fire on top of the iceberg to keep warm and for a signal. I wouldn't be worried about melting the ice since it was such a big iceberg that it wouldn't be able to melt in the time it takes to get rescued
Sounds like it would make for an epic movie.
The one thing I don't understand about the Titanic, is why on earth didn't the film crew try and help. Were they too obsessed with getting the perfect shots ?
I think you're making this up, Greg. If something like this had happened, it would have been big news and I would have heard about it.

How do you start a fire with? Your Banana trees?
Pennsylvania sunk the Titanic

It's certain a Japanese destroyer rammed him.
Greg said, as if it were unusual, that on the Titanic there were
Apparently only 2 baths for the enitre 3rd class.
But that wouldn't have been unusual for back then. The Titanic's voyage across the Atlantic was expected to be 5.7 days. It was customary for people at that time to bathe once a week, or less frequently.
As for toilets, meaning plumbed devices for emptying the bladder and bowels, there were tons of them on the Titanic for all classes of passengers as well as for the crew.
There are loads of things I could bring with me from the Titanic. I could just fill a bag of stuff with me before I leave the first class lounge when the water comes in. It would be epic. Everyone would be outside panicking and I would just be chilling inside sipping a coffee and helping myself at the bar and food area

No I did not say that as if it was unusual. I said it as a fact.

I think you would of literally screamed like a girl, stolen a shawl and a bonnet off a little girl or a little old lady and jumped into a lifeboat.
No way would you of been brave like Jack.

Maybe he would have been on a lifeboat and seen your comment on Letsrun. 'Help!' you cry as you freeze in the water. He just stares at you.

Why wouldn't you run down to the engine room and grab one of the engines.? Then you could take that with you and attach it to the iceberg. Then you could sail it all the way to New York harbour and so rescue yourself.
