I'm moving to Alexandria, VA at the end of the month. Anyone know any good places to run near there?

Obvious one is the Mt. Vernon trail -- hike/bike all the way to Mt. Vernon or up to DC past National Airport.
Other hike/bike trails at 4-mile run (not a distance, but the name of a creek), which links up with the W&OD trail. Farther out in Fairfax Co. is Lake Accotink, which has about 5 miles of good trails. And in DC are Rock Creek Park, the Capital Crescent Trail, the C&O Canal Towpath, all of the Mall, and the Glover-Archibold trail. Email me for more specific directions.

I quote: "He asked for good places to run, not jog. Only joggers go to Rock Creek Park. Stick to the canal paths".

This guy put together a ton of running courses with maps, distances, etc. of the DC/VA/MD area. Very detailed.
As a previous post says, the key places are Mt. Vernon trail (16 miles), W&OD Trail (40+ miles), C&O Canal Tow Path (180+ miles), and Rock Creek Park. You can do all sorts of cool runs like start at Belle Haven Marina in Alexandria off the Mt. Vernon trail and run down to the 14th Street Bridge, cross to the Jefferson Memorial, go down to the Lincoln Memorial, cross the Memorial bridge, and come back for a solid 20. Just be sure to bring water, because there are only 3 (4 if you modify your route) water stops along this route.
The DC Road Runners meet every Saturday at the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington for a long run. Since we're ramping up for the Fall marathon season, the distances will be getting longer. Visit:
www.dcroadrunners.org/longrun
There is a link on that page with a list of all the routes you can take from Iwo Jima (there are alot)
