In Valencia. Hard to see her competing with Gidey.

Ok great Aussie. I don't think anyone really gives a crap though.
good luck, champ!

Pounding on the road in racing flats permanently kills one's speed.
Elite 1500m athletes do not race 1/2 Marathons or Marathons with expectation of 1500m glory.

Sifan Hassann 3:51 for 1500 and 1:05 in Half Marathon
It’s not a rumour, the thread title was edited by mods. It is clear on their website, Dibaba is named in their elite list.
She will run 1:09:09. She is already well past her prime.
Strange decision, has she even done a 10k before?!
Dibaba is a doper just like the rest of them.

Crazy news, if true. Haven’t seen her race near her old speed in a while. Wonder why she’s doing a half.

sure Dibaba hasn't run close to the world record since 2015, but she did have a strong 2019 season taking down the likes of Hassan, Muir, and Tsegay. Not sure why everyone writes her off completely when she ran multiple 3:55s last year. Curious to see what she can do for a half
Why are we talking about running when their is an election going on???

Jesus guys, why are you here? Personally I’m quite interested when one of the biggest mid-distance stars in our sport makes their first appearance in over a year, and at a distance where they’re of an unknown quality against a stacked field as well. The Valencia races are easily the next big event in elite mid/long distance, and I wish they’d come sooner.
I think the over/under for Dibaba in her half debut is 67:xx for 3rd-5th. I have a feeling it’s not her best distance (1k-3k) but have no reason to believe she’ll bomb.
The men’s half looks to me like the most exciting race: Rhonex Kipruto vs. Jacob Kiplimo vs. Kibiwott Kandie vs. Bedan Karoki. There’s a real chance of the WR if weather’s good and they get after it. It’s conceivable that the results of that race are: 1. Kiplimo 57:56 2. Kipruto 57:58 3. Kandie 58:09 or something similarly stunning.
I'll have Kandie second over Rhonex and throw in B.Ngeno in fourth. Ngeno and Yimer are the only two athletes with at least 4 halfs sub 59.30 since Jan 2018 [I know Jemal is in the longer event here]. Also, first two 20 sec quicker if conditions suit.
Quickest ever debut?
2 for 2 predictions!
How do you stay motivated though? I mean athletics in 2020 is laughable. No out of competition testing and adizero v vaporfly springs.
Records will stand but credibility is gone.
