The Solinsky thing is likely, not plausible. I think we all know Jerry’s group is dirtier than NOP just without the scrutiny.
I'm very disappointed by Chris Solinski and Jerry. Perhaps the rumors are true about BTC.

How do you feel about NOP?
What did Jerry say about all this? Did the author ask him about Teg and Solinsky and Thyroid meds?

Kinda seems like the backbone of this book is the interviews from the gouchers and magness. Doesnt exactly reek of objectivity.
Have you read the book? To say he isn't objective I think is grossly unfair.
Matt Hart is an investigative journalist. I thought he was very fair.
Adam Goucher and Pete Julian have two conflicting stories on what Goucher allegedly told Julian about joining Alberto. Matt presents them both.
The narrative closely tracks the Goucher's story, however he spoke to many of the early people at Athletics West like Jeff Johnson, he synthesized a ton of the other work out there. This isn't Kara Goucher's take on Alberto. It clearly has their viewpoint but he spoke to a ton of people. I haven't seen a sports book this deeply footnoted.
Did Matt Hart do an extensive interview with Amy Yoder Begley? That would/should be a crucial part of the saga.
This book is predictably a huge hit with the collective confirmation bias of the LRC braintrust.

you know at this point we have a documentary, a pro-publica article, Alberto's initial 2015 statement--which was ultimately the statement that sunk his battle ship because he admitted to drugging his own son with testosterone--the 2017 leaked USADA report, several New York Times articles, the actual 2019 ban, where they found Alberto at fault.
Then we have Mary Cain coming out with allegations of abuse (and she has been extensive and specific--not just the original video), then we have AYB, Jackie Areson, and Arianna Lambie all saying that they were treated in similar abusive ways.
Then we have the more recent documentary with Lambie.
We have quotes and stories Dathan Ritzenhein. Tara Welling. Stuart Eagon. Danny Mackey. a former Masseuse. Dan Browne, along with of course Magness and the Gouchers--who are often treated like they were the only people ever to speak out because they were the loudest and most frequent.
So I guess if we have confirmation bias, we have a LOT of confirmation to go off of.
and to be clear I didn't initially buy into it when I heard it. I thought the 2015 doc was full of holes. it wasn't until Salazar's belligerent statement that I realized that he is probably crossing the line in a lot of different ways.

I thought it was was well-known BTC did gray area stuff?
Did anyone pick up on the fact that nop did a significant amount of blood testing with examples of hgb consistently at 17-17.8 (and large rbc mass- states no volume available)? Even with altitude, that’d be difficult to produce without spending months and months at >2000m. Have the simulation tents shown to actually increase hgb? I’m too lazy to look for any studies today.
No surprise there. Remember that two out the only 16 flagged likely blood dopers worldwide in 2016 were from NOP, and the worst of the 16 from Jerry.
Also Kara is on record on stating that she normally always had way over 15 g/dL. Sure you do, Kara. Let's measure that now!
You are correct - we do have a lot of quotes and stories. But. No. Proof. I’m glad Alberto isn’t on trial for murder.
He tried to kiss Kara. Good story - where’s the proof? I tried to kiss her once too - she’s a cutie. Just kidding. I was MAKING UP A STORY. Like someone else said - tabloid journalism.
It all looks bad and stinks to the high heavens. But until there is Proof, it’s all just quotes and stories.
Is there any coincidence this book is coming out right before Alberto’s appeal?
F’ing witch hunt. I hope he wins big.

Fact is, speaking from experience, no one ever really liked AlSal, he's a pompous, manipulative, egotistical ass. His controversies shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone aside from fanboys and Nike employees.

So true.
Here is an article from 1990 about how Salazar bullied High School great Jeff Nelson in the early 1980s at U of Oregon. Salazar has always been an ass.
"Nelson had a major altercation with Salazar because he--a freshman--had the audacity to outkick the senior at the end of a workout [in 1980]."
https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1990-08-11-sp-308-story.htmlYes... if you think repeating the same story over and over again adds more evidence... Sure!
I don’t understand how anyone can stand the “documentary”. It is udder rubbish!
I’ve read every book on Nike, and related to Nike, over the years - including all the Lance books, and for that matter, adidas (1). I just have always been curious, having been weaned on their trainers and flats from the 70s, and having been kind of taken aback at their dealings w/ small running shops of the early 80s - of which I was a part.
So I immediately pre-ordered Matt’s book. Comparatively speaking, I was duly impressed w/ his “notes” section. His citations were - for this topic - exhaustive. Fifty pages and 342 notes indicates Hart did his due diligence. I learned much. “Swoosh” was very telling; Hollister’s take was gentle; “Shoe Dog” was a great story; but Hart’s book brings to light much more. I’m into my second read.
It makes me happy knowing that Alberto Salazar 100% has been on LetsRun today and has seen the headline about him trying to kiss Kara. Keep it in your pants dude. What a loser.
Unfortunately he might be such a narcissistic that he isn’t even embarrassed about it. At least everyone will be laughing at him if he ever does come back to coaching. Mo and Galen are his two big “successes” and it is extremely evident that he had been giving them things that weren’t legal. It’s just as obvious they were doping in some way as it was that McGuire/Sosa were. Rupp still running well doesn’t prove he was clean. It proves you still get benefits of doping after you stop. Ryan Hall is the ? US born marathoner. If you take out the shady sh*t, Alberto is just another coach; except he’s a complete douche bag. There is absolutely no reason this guy should ever be in the sport again
Yet none of that is really relevant to the breathless, fawning, uncritical reception the LRC braintrust has given this book.
