31st finisher may be Ayad Lamdassem, 39yo whose best of 2.09.28 was when 9th in London in 2013. Was 21st here last year in 2.10.52. Ran his PB at the half by a sec when 31st at Worlds this year in 61.21.
Next might be Lemi Dumecha, winner in Castellan, Spain in Feb this year in 2.07.43, 2.24 off his previous best.
33rd could be Lani Rutto, 31yo with a PB of 2.06.34 when second in Frankfurt in 2015. Has run 11 other marathons: five before, six after; with none sub 2.10.
33rd may be Jill Holterman on her debut. PB at the half of 71.41 when 4th this last March in Den Haag. Jill is 29yo.
34th to finish should be Yimer Getahun, 28yo, who was 16th in Seville in Feb nine seconds under 2.10. That took 4.02 off his previous best when 24th in Berlin last year.

I am hoping that last year’s winner in Abu Dhabi is involved here. Had a sensational run as pacer there, from 20k his 5k splits were 14.15, 14.26, 14.43, and 14.54.
Six days left now until we see if Reuben can replicate these times among the class of this field.

Next woman could be Elena Loyo Monoyo, 37yo, 17th here last year in her best of 2.30.57. Ran her PB over the half in the Spanish nationals in Feb this year in Puerto de Segunto, winning in 72.26.

Your timing was delicious.
Well done. Just two comments. I think Bedan Karoki is pacemaker at Fukuoka this weekend and for me Yimer will impress but not win. I believe he is a quick runner of halfs but doesn’t win the big ones that often. One of the major winners will win here, IMO.
For me as a Swede it will be extra interesting to follow the Swede David Nilsson in splendid shape. He has a big chance to be first Swede in history sub 2:10 ( 2.10.09 as PB).
A couple of years ago he turned down my offer to coach him by the words; " You are too good for me man! " -: )))
We can establish he managed quite well on his own…. ))

I won’t get to Nilsson on this list but have a Swedish woman on debut at 35th. Sanna Mustonen will turn 29 tomorrow and late last year rewrote her own best times. Starting in October in Hole, Norway: fourth in 33.35. Next month was 6th in France over the half in 72.24 in Boulogne- Billancourt. Forty days later was second over ten miles at Hamilton, Canada in 56.04.

Ninth to finish may be Evans Chebet. Won his last two marathons, at Lake Biwa and Buenos Aires. The latter in 2.05.00. Has four sub 2.06 times. Was second here and fourth in Tokyo in 2017 as well as third in Berlin in 2016.
having a day out

Fifth lady should be Mare Dibaba. 31yo. Has run her PB of 2.19.52 twice, in China and Dubai. Bronze at last Olympics after winning Worlds the previous year. Was second in Berlin last year in 2.20.21.
Next for me is Tigist Girma, born 93 so either 26 or 27. Breakthru came in Amsterdam last October, taking 6.42 off her best in her 11th completion of the classic distance. Was second in 2.19.52 then fifth in Tokyo in 2.21.56. I still don't have Peres in my list: i know when Tigist hits the go button, Peres won't be able to go with her.
Tigist could get third, no preview hardly mentioned her

25th to cross the line should be Daniel Kemboi, 33 or 34yo. 8th in Amsterdam in Oct. last year in 2.06.31
Next may be Chalu Deso Gelsima who was 9th in Dubai in 2.06.29, taking 2.39 off his PB.
Cut another chunk out of that PB.

Next lady may be the first of the locals, Marta Galimany. Bio soon.
35yo, has run two PB's and an NR this year. 12th in Seville in Feb in 2.29.02. Then one hour NR in Sept of 17546 metres and capped it off at the World halfs with 71.08 for 33rd.
The english language commentator was hopeless when Marta finished, just missing the NR: awarding her second fastest Spaniard woman all time without checking, she is actually only fourth.

Tenth lady might be Zeinaba Yimer, who debuted last year here in 2.19.28. Finished fifth. Fourth last month in the World half champs.
Last year here was the first marathon in history where seven women went sub 2.21. Could we hope for eight here?
Eighth woman was Joan Melly in 2.20.57
