Eighth lady must be Degita Azimeraw, who made an amazing debut in Amsterdam last year in 2.19.26. Failed to run London after testing positive for COVID.
Ninth to finish may be Evans Chebet. Won his last two marathons, at Lake Biwa and Buenos Aires. The latter in 2.05.00. Has four sub 2.06 times. Was second here and fourth in Tokyo in 2017 as well as third in Berlin in 2016.
No Jordan Hasay yet? Not in my top ten now i have the full list.

Ninth woman could be Helalia Johannes. Won gold for Namibia in the last Commonwealth Games just down the road from me on the Gold Coast. Has had an awesome last 21 months: won bronze in the World Champs in oppressive conditions, smashed her own NR in winning Nagoya last year in 2.22.25 beating Jemeli, broke national records over 5000 on the track and 10k on the roads, and won the half in Marugame in another NR. Helalia is now 40 years old.

Next should be Abebe Negewo, 36yo, who took large chunks off his PB last year in two marathons, the latter here in Valencia.
Tenth lady might be Zeinaba Yimer, who debuted last year here in 2.19.28. Finished fifth. Fourth last month in the World half champs.
11th to finish may be Tsedat Ayana, 24yo, third in Dubai in Jan. in 2.06.18. Won Seville early last year in 2.06.36 then third in May in Ottawa in 2.08.53.

Next could be Jordan Hasay, 29yo, especially if she gets back to the form of three years ago. Two thirds in majors is a fantastic year, especially if one is in 2.20.57. Third in Boston last year in 2.25.20.

Next should be Leul Gebresilase, 28yo with two finishes last year sub 2.07.20. The year before was his breakthru: winning here in 2.04.31 after second in Dubai in 2.04.02. An interesting omen from that year: he was tenth at the World half Champs, same position as this year.
Twelfth woman may be Purity Rionoripo, 27yo. The finishing order is mostly according to a top 50 rankings I did six months ago here:
https://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=9895048&page=6
And this is my profile then:
28th woman is Purity Rioniripo, third in Nagoya in 2.22.56. Last December was seventh in Valencia in 2.20.39. That was her second time under 2.21 after her win in Paris in 2017. Her husband also won on that course that year.
13th to cross the line might be Andualem Shiferaw, 28yo. Won three events over the classic distance last year. I ranked him 49 in my 'fall season' thread four months ago. Here is my mini bio:
49 is Andualem Shiferaw, winner of Lisbon last October in 2.06.00. His World Athletics profile doesn't include Dubai this year whereas that website places him 25th in 3.08.22 after only being 13 sec off the leaders at 25k in 1.14.31.
Next lady could be Fancy Chemutai, 25yo, in her debut. Has been among the top 5 road runners over the last three years with a win at RAK, podiums here over the half, at Prague over 10k and the half, Peachtree, and the Houston half.

Next should be Hayle Lemi, former winner of Boston. Now 26yo, was second in Toronto last year in 2.05.09 and in 2016 was 2nd in Dubai in 2.04.33 as defending champion.
14th woman may be Helen Tola, known as Helen Bekele on her World Athletics profile, turning 26 between now and this event. Sixth in Nagoya this last March in 2.23.52. 2019 was her best year: in March was second in Tokyo in 2.21.01, five weeks later was third at Istanbul half in 66.45, then September was fourth at Berlin in 2.21.36. Was previously 4th and 6th in Berlin.

As well as these two legends of the sport, I am giving props here and hoping a third can improve his PB to under 2.06 after a decade of trying to master this distance. As long ago as 2006, Zersenay Tadese was second in Brussels over 10000 on the track in what still is the 9th fastest time ever. John Wesley Harding, a legend himself around here, ranked him 47th among his peers among 'middle and long distance runners since WWII'. In between Borzakovskiy and Malinowski:
https://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=10221588Is now 38yo, won the Lisbon half in 2010 in 58.23 then in 2011 in 58.31. Was 6th in 2019 in Doha at the World Champs at this distance.
15th female might be another road running legend at the half, Joan Chelimo Melly, almost 30yo. Has run sub 66.30 each of the last four years. Has a second and third in Copenhagen, a win in Prague, and a third here. If she can sort out the second half, she could take 3-4 min off her time here.
16th to complete the distance could be Philemon Rono, 29yo, a multiple winner in Toronto. In 2017 set a Canadian all-comers record of 2.06.52 and in October last year ran his best there, or anywhere, of 2.05.00.

Next woman should be Meskerem Assefa, 29yo and ranked 12 by the governing body. Fourth in Osaka this last Jan in 2.23.31. Last year 4th in Boston in 2.25.40 then third Frankfurt in 2.22.11 as defending champ. PB set that year before of 2.20.36.
