Some people on this thread will never ever give up, whatever deathtoll. Or, there is a tendency now that they leave this thread. On the run?
And the highest 7 day moving average might be under 80. I hope so. Probably not . A fair chance, though , because very soon we will see a kind of lockdown. But too late?
They give up every thread. They just move to another one and pretend their denial and predictions were never wrong. People are still posting like they are smart after predicting only a few thousand CASES in the USA.
I just can't be bothered anymore to engage a man that can't even admit that an organ in charge of communicating, implementing and overseeing government health policy, (an organ that also has spewed proaganda disguised as information for more than half a century), is not to be trusted in giving unbiased scientific advice on health...
The same man can't seem to wrap his head around what GDP is or how it is calculated, so he can't even see the flaws of using temporary data from 1 quarter on 1 economic indicator when comparing how countries have fared (economically) in their corona strategies.
I don't judge that per se by the way, most people don't actually understand what GDP tells you or how it is calculated, and that's fine..
But most people also don't claim stuff like it doesn't count towards a country's GDP that a government ads 10% to it's spending because it will make the growth lower in the future..
(John Martin Keynes, which even conservatives across the globe has embraced, would roll in is grave...)
I could go on, but again, what is the point?
(My wife would say I have some slightly masochistic tendencies, but apparantely I am not masochistic enough to try to reason with that man anymore ).
You Harambe, even if we don't agree on how covid lifes are priced, I am happy to engage. :)
In conclusion, I see absolutely no reason in giving up my assertation that slaughtering Sweden's approach to handling Corona is highly premature!
Why?
From what I can see, they have managed well through this pandemic in terms succeding with their flatten the curve tactic, and they've achived it by relying on mostly voluntary measures.
And yes, they have allowed the virus to spread, but their death count per capita, even if high compared to their immediate neighbors, is much lower than many countries with much much more draconian measures taken.
