Looks as though the French authorities are on to him. Found syringes in a bag. Surprises no one.

Big if true
It would be a big deal but absolutely no surprise. Please go re-watch London 2012 1500 meter heats and final for confirmation.
I remember listening to a podcast years ago when Centro Sr. was on the Pacers Running podcast and made some comments about how he/they fully expected Manzano to eventually be awarded Gold and Centro would end up with Bronze from London 2012. Currently waiting to see what athletes have to say on social media. It always seems the athletes "know" so much but never speak out until after the fact and the "I always knew X was off" or "Its not hard to see who is not doing things right" comments flood in from guys/gals on the circuit.
Makh-daddy has always been on people's radar just because of his popping up to win some medals then disappearing for 3-4 years only to win more medals.
And how many times has ex-runner (and a few certain others) defended him here? No other currently active athlete is as much an obvious doper as him. He didn't even try to hide it.
Not sure what "products used for injections" means. If it means illegal doping substances, then that is bad. However, I expect that it will be very difficult to suspend an athlete merely for illegal substances being found in a bag with syringes and his identification in a room where he stays when he has been in South Africa for the entire COVID period since March. If it had been found while he was staying there, it would be much easier to tie him to it. In this case, it could be his but lawyers would argue that someone else could have framed him unless there are, say, documents that identify him with purchase agreements or receipts with his name on them, for instance. What is the IAAF or WADA or AIU position on possession of illegal doping products? Does that in itself give the ban. We do know that Makhloufi showed he was still very, very good at World's last year and we know that he always shows up big at the Olympics. Moreover, his performance in 2012 was surprising enough to earn him a lot of suspicion. On the other hand, it was very fun having him around for the competitions, so we will lose out in that sense if he's banned. It would also open up opportunities for some of the other contenders behind Tim Cheruiyot to medal, Jakob, for instance.
+1
Big Mac is back baby!!!
Hell, you're disgusting. Just a few hours ago you were slandering Coe (which I guess is par for the course here) and even Ovett (for declining at the age of 28 after having a piece of his thigh taken out in and smog induced heart problems in LA). Yet you think we'll 'lose out' if this disgusting cheat doesn't manage to get off on a technicality? You pretty much sum up everything that's wrong with this forum.
Will this mean Gold for Leo Manzano and Silver for Clayton Murphy?
Would be interesting to see a Venn Diagram of those condemning Makhloufi here and yet defending Salazar.

Does being surprised they actually got him count?

Yep!
Unfortunately, none of what you have surmised is true in this current age:
1) Jama Aden was found to have preloaded epo syringes abd two types of anabolic. Nothing was fone. All athletes were neither sanctioned nor suspended. The whole matter just faded away.
2)Amdouni has leaked whatsapp messages demanding remaining payment for epo and GH. He was neither sanctioned nor suspended. The whole matter faded away, culminating in a 59.xx in Gdynia recently.
The system is corrupt and broken.

Was going to say exactly this. The amount of defense for this guy for this guy over the years has been simply outrageous. Forget anything to do with what he did on the track, the fact he was heavily involved for years with Jama Aden alone says all that needs to be said.
At times I thought that the only way people could possibly find ways to apply the "innocent until proven guilty" narrative to this guy was out of pure patriotism and hence I wondered if every Algerian who was a fan of track and field had come to Letsrun to find a way to defend this idiot on the messageboard.
What this continues to show is how little f%$king sense there is here and how little ability and confidence there is to put 2 and 2 together. Once again, if you think that "never failed a doping test" is any sort of measure of innocence, then you clearly have no idea of the history of this sport and how things work in it.
This is not surprising in the least and even though I hope that Manzano could get the medal he deserves I doubt they can pull it back that far (they couldn't and didn't with the other comically obvious doper Kiprop and his 2008 "gold")
He's right. "..products used for injections" tells us nothing
You were faster than most people on lrc.
You are an obvious doper.
This shows that you have no reading comprehension skills. While I do believe that there is legitimate suspicion over Coe for a variety of reasons, that post gives it up to him for running his fastest 1500m in 1986 after blood doping had become illegal, and 5 years after his best, the implication being there that perhaps he was clean in 1986. I also have in no way criticized Steve Ovett. He had a long and very successful career and I documented just what was behind his decline in form after 1981. The one problem was that I didn't address the heart and asthma problems, which certainly played a role in LA in 1984. As for Makhloufi, I was among the first to write about my suspicions that he was doping, back in 2012, and I have the intelligence to separate my belief that he was doping all these years from my interest as a fan in a guy with personality who had some incredible and charismatic performances and workouts, back when he was trained by Evan Scully.
I can't wait to hear the "rekrunner defence".
