People who are scared of covid might do it. And hiring a great coach like JS is always a good idea!
Well.......I `m honest to tell that few of my former coached runners ( that hired me) have left me temporary because they lost their jobs due to the downturn in world economy due to covid pandemic. But some new runners have accepted my services and e.g two guys heading for sub 2:40 marathons are now doing great improvement ( one of them a half marathon TT today solo without pacemaker in low 1:17)......and not to forget Slava in the thread "Tribute to 2:20 " , exciting magical coaching goes on........:)
- Magic winter coming on - :)
I have more people now then I ever have. People are looking for an extra little push right now that the right coach can provide
If you're looking at training holistically, you're looking at much more than one season. Say you're a 3 hour marathoner and you want to go sub-2:40. Well, you probably don't get there in 1 cycle/season. Even if there's no racing, a good coach can guide you for the next couple of years to get you ready for a sub-2:40 attempt. Just because there isn't a race, you can still go through a full training block and either time trial or just reset. There are still gains to be made.
