That one is much more nuanced.
On a formal level, blacks get advantages in admissions over whites and asians. So, a black person who grew up in a solid middle class household, attended good schools, K-12, with solid financial resources and a family background that includes support for and expectation of educational success will have an advantage.
On a less systemic level, blacks tend to grow up in homes that are not solid middle class, go to failing K-12 schools, lack financial resources and are more often without that family background that includes support for and expectation of educational success. For many, the institutional advantages (lower admission standards, etc.) fall short of making up for the more challenging realities of their early lives. As mentioned above, for others, it is the opposite.
So - much more nuanced.
