Does the Boston 9 need any break-in miles to start feeling better? Compared to the SL20 they just feel firmer and un-spectacular.

I feel like the new boston is less of a daily trainer. I’ve been doing most of my summer miles in the 8s, but don’t know if I’d use the 9s for this.
Shoes are subjective but I find the Boston 9 as close to perfect as exists in running shoes right now. I never thought that much of the Boston 7 or 8, just found them super "blah", either too soft or just dead... kinda similar to the Nike Turbo, but the Turbo felt better.
But I got a pair of the Boston 9s in June and since have put close to 850 miles on two pairs, in fact I just ordered a third pair for the rest of the year and will most likely get a fourth pair after that. It has become my "default" daily shoe for anything. I find it firm but not harsh at all and the Boost in it works well (I have never been a big fan of Boost)... but the amount of Boost with the light strike rails is spot on. I think that is the big change, to my feet, from the 8...lightstrike.. it brought the shoe together to perfection.
Since falling so in love with the Boston 9 I bought a pair of SL20s... which I love...for tempo or threshold runs but not for the longer runs or even all around running I use the Boston for.
The Boston 9 makes you work, it will build foot/ankle/leg strength, but it is protective too. I prefer training in lower stack neutral shoes (The Nike Streak has been a fav for years) but the Boston 9 is a great mix of that with protection if you get sloppy or lazy in your stride.
