a few questions on recovery time for coaches out there. Reading Daniels stuff I see him talk about giving almost full recovery between reps ( His R pace or F pace). when training 1500-300 meter runners specifically. and this can be up to a 4:1 recovery/running ratio.
I also see people often talk about 8-10 x 400 @ mile pace w 1 min recovery as a great predictor workout for mile times.
So which is right? Is it just that for most workouts it should be the full recovery and once or twice a season/cycle you can try the predictor workout to see where you are at.?
Also an example of. a workout I have used with high schoolers is 2-3 sets of 4 x 400 @ mile pace with 1 min recovery then full recovery 5-6 minutes between sets.. Thoughts on this type of workout ?? It has seemed effective to me.
