How easy is this to set up? Are you happy with the display options? I currently use Stryd with a Garmin watch and am considering getting an Apple Watch.
I don't really use the Garmin software as I like TrainingPeaks better.

Only way I use my watch is to send messages to friends saying vote vote, Donald is a idot.
Only way rich people can get that lunatic out of the way. Maybe after that I will have a real training session.
*an
so who is the idot now?
Yes. Best running watch setup I've ever used in 25 years. The only hang up is learning the split function. The multitude of screen options are great. I'm using on Apple watch 5 LTE
I have had Stryd app on Apple Watch for about a week. It took me some practice to stop and manually split the watch- you have to develop a good touch, it is harder to do than on a normal watch.
I don’t think you can set up auto laps at 0.25 mi but maybe that is user ignorance. The defaults are 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, etc.
I previously used Stryd for distance with a Garmin watch, I trusted that to be accurate and it has been.
I like the Apple Watch because it also is a cell phone (if you buy the cell version).
Of corse all the power data is available.
I forgot to say: it is very easy to set up. Garmin set up was a lot harder (for Stryd).
garmin setup with stryd literally couldn’t be much simpler.......just connect the pod to the watch, set pace to always and set calibration to 100.

Thank you for the feedback, I will consider the pairing!
There's an Apple Watch/Stryd Facebook page where you can ask additional questions.

Maybe it was different before. I had to download another Garmin app on my phone, and there were more steps...maybe it is easier now.
Update on manual splits- when I run strides on a measured 100m and manually split on a Garmin/Stryd, it usually is 100m plus or minus a little, but with Apple Watch and Stryd, it usually is 92-95 meters, suggesting there is a delay in starting the “lap” when I do the double button push required on the Apple Watch. I hear the “beep” at the right time but the distance always is short. No big deal as long as you take that into account if you care what’s pace you are running your strides.
