There was a half decent 200m kid at a local high school. He had this idea if he moved up, his speed would completely transfer to the 400. Went off to college and became a subpar 400 guy (49.high). Then he created a GoFundMe to sponsor his Olympic dreams, he was going to be pursue the 800m. After two years (2016-17) was able to run a 1:55.
Kind of reminds me of this.
Did he refund his GoFundMe supporters?

Did it make you jealous that he was working hard or something? I don’t understand why you’d hate on someone that has huge goals. I hope you’re not a real coach.
Over half the money was from his grandma.
With my athletes I try to help them make realistic goals.
Well there’s 3 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

I had to tap out after 1 minute. The stupidity was overwhelming.
No one cares about a 10 year old video with biased/false info

Trust the science. Science is real.
This is why the U.S. is a laughing stock. We don't trust the experts!
If KJ is the GOAT, then this guy can run sub 2.
All the talk about changing form was cringe worthy.

As if all he had to do was use sub 2 stride mechanics to.... umm, like yeah, run sub 2.

You did not give us the lad's 200m personal best as a teenager.
Two-hundred metre to 400m teenage athletes who do not have a fall activity need to be encouraged to participate in fall XC (a low mileage program) and encouraged to become 400-800 athletes in their later teens. Do not forget: Steve Ovett in his early teens was a 200m & 400m athlete who participated in fall XC. It is easy to be negative and find evidence of failure. Poster, your post was not helpful.
Sub-2:00...? Nah. He needed to be mid-26 10k to be even close. Now, he would’ve been 2:04 in the cheater fly’s.
I guess the main point to my story is that the uninformed do not respect the distance change. “Look how fast Ritz ran for 5k, if he just changes ‘X’ he could break 2 for the thon” isn’t much different than telling a 22.68 200m guy that he can qualify for the Olympic 800m team.
I think Ritz would be the first to tell you that he couldn’t break 2 hours. Whoever made this video is uniformed and ignorant.
If I wanted to be mean I’d share the kids GoFundMe video! I’m really just making a comment about people’s ignorance.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.

I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
